My Art: La Dame Rouge 6/25/2013
Asleep for so long,
Dreams forgotten.
The world took over.
Asleep for so long,
Her heart was dormant,
Cold and gone.
She woke up,
And found her dreams again.
She woke up,
And found herself again.
Hope,
Strength and Love.
And most of all, peace.
Asleep no more.
When I look at La Dame Rouge, I see strength. I see beauty. I see hope. I see faith. The way she stares at what’s in front of her inspires me and reminds me of a time when in my life when I found a surge of inspiration.
It was the most beautiful feeling that I’ve ever had.
Life has a way of making you forget about the little things that truly matter. You get drowned in the norms of careers we often find ourselves unwillingly immersed in. I was once there, uninspired and demotivated.
I’ve forgotten my dreams and I told myself it was okay; that it was part of growing up. But then I woke up and realized that your life is what you make out of it. And even if you unwillingly find yourself in situations where you feel like your watching an actor live your life, you have every right to take it back and live it yourself.
That’s what I did. Despite my corporate job, I have found a way to have a career in the fields I’m passionate about. I host, I paint. I live. I’m alive and I love every single part of my life.
La Dame Rouge is my strength. She is my reminder. There is hope and there is a way. All that’s left to do is to fight for it.

A colleague asked me to paint for her so she could place it in her new home.
This is what I ended up with. This is now on her wall.
